Creative Help for Scripture ReadersWhen is the last time anyone went home from church talking about how the Scriptures were read in worship? A workshop for those who read Scripture aloud, both clergy and lay readers, is offered by actor Mark Rosenwinkel (Guthrie Theater, Chanhassen Dinner Theatres in the Twin Cities) and Pastor David Buuck of Minnetonka. Titled "Scripture Coming To Life -- Presenting the Word with Power and Pathos," the workshop can be offered in your congregation or your community for the churches of your area. Helps are offered with the use of the voice, understanding the meaning of the text, overcoming nervousness, reading to convey meaning, and suggestions for enhancing the presentation of Scripture. Demonstrations are given, and individual coaching is offered. Some comments: "It was heartening to see others with ideas on how to interpret Scripture. It was inspiring." "I usually think programs are too long! This is NOT true today! Very well organized!" "You were both clear, interesting, informative."
